Daniel started developing software in Brazil when he was 10, on his TK-3000 Basic 2MB RAM computer. He worked as a consultant and software developer in many companies. In 2001, he worked for an Internet startup in Italy. In 2006 he joined Locaweb, the biggest web hosting company in Brazil and worked there for 5 years as developer and tech lead in infrastructure team. In 2010, he organized the first DevOpsDays Brazil.
Today he is CTO at Elo7 - the biggest crafts marketplace in Brazil. Daniel is also Computer Science PhD Student at University of São Paulo – IME-USP. His PhD topic is about “Management Patterns for Software Startups”. He Mastered in Computer Science in University of São Paulo in 2009, with the Thesis Patterns for Introducing New Ideas in the Software Industry.
Studying other Arts beside software development, like Theater, Music (guitar playing), dance and writing, he acted in five musical plays and has a poetry book published. Daniel is a  Vipassana meditation student and is very interested in topics related to human consciousness.

Daniel Cukier trabalha com desenvolvimento de software desde 1995, principalmente com Java e Ruby (Rails). Atualmente é CTO da Elo7 e está fazendo doutorado em Ciência da Computação pela Universidade de São Paulo na área de Cloud Computing. Fez mestrado também no IME-USP com a dissertação Padrões para Introduzir Novas Ideias na Indústria de Software (veja o vídeo). Ativo na comunidade ágil desde 2005, quando ingressou na Agilcoop, produzindo podcasts, artigos e ministrando cursos sobre agilidade. Introduziu o uso de Métodos Ágeis na Locaweb, maior empresa de hosting da America Latina, onde participou de vários projetos de software na área de SaaS e IaS. Organizou o evento DevOpsDays Brasil, um encontro de desenvolvedores com sysadmins. É autor do blog AgileAndArt, onde costuma escrever sobre desenvolvimento de software e as artes. Além da presença na área de software, trabalha com teatro, música (toca violão) e poesia.
